Frequently
Asked
Questions

1 / How long will the process take?

Most children are sleeping through the night within 3 days of starting the ‘Super Sleeper’ plan. Naps usually take a little longer to come together and master (which is normal) however, night sleep improves quite quickly if the plan is being followed consistently.

2 / Is this a ‘cry it out’ or ‘extinction’ method?

No. While there will be tears because your child is learning a new skill and changing a habit, this method allows you to connect with your child both physically and verbally as they are learning to fall asleep independently. I do not leave your child alone to cry. How many tears there are depends on your child’s personality, how overtired he/she is. You will not have to let your child cry for long periods of time without responding to him/her and I would coach you on just how to do that.

3 / What do I do when my child cries?

I will teach you strategies for every scenario and tailor a plan based on you and your child’s needs. This method focuses on removing sleep props, crutches and teaching your child independent sleep skills. Crying comes along with change and mastering a new skill but I approach this with compassion and the goal is to minimize crying.

4 / Are you with me every step of the way? Are you available if you have questions?

Yes. The first night of starting the plan, I am available via text from 7pm until your child falls asleep. For the following 2 weeks , you will have access to me Mon-Fri 9am-4pm, Sat 12-4pm via text msg as well as 4 phone calls which I will schedule in at times that work for both of us.
